What we do

Welcome to the CT Freemasons Masonic Organ & Tissue Donor Awareness Program website

Our mission is to raise awareness of the important need for our Masonic Brothers, their families, friends and others to register as organ, tissue and eye donors; and to encourage others to do the same.

An informed donor is a committed donor. Therefore, we will be making available information or links to organ donation and transplantation websites; providing information to enable prospective donors to make knowledgeable decisions regarding donor registration. In this section you’ll find links to such transplant organizations as New England Donor Services www.neds.org, United Network of Organ Sharing www.unos.org , TRIO (Transplant Recipients International Organization) www.trio.org , and others to assist you in your donation decision.

The two most popular methods of registration are by going online to www.registerme.org or by registering at your local Dept of Motor Vehicles (DMV) when obtaining or renewing your driver’s license.

Many potential donors are moved by donation stories, both positive and less fortunate. Part of our mission is to, through the heartfelt experiences of others, convey the importance of registering as an organ, tissue/eye donor. Here you’ll find stories of everyone from your friends and neighbors to famous celebrities such as Rock & Roll legend Tina Turner, playwright Neil Simon, and comedian Jim ‘Gomer Pyle’ Nabors.

To further accomplish our mission goals, we’ll be featuring our monthly column from the CT Freemason magazine, as well as efforts made by lodges to further increase awareness of this life-affirming mission. There will also be opportunities to volunteer with Donate Life CT, as well as our committee. With this website begins a new chapter in our efforts to spread the word about donation. As the months go by, our website will grow into one our Brothers will be proud to be a part of.
